Born in Egypt and raised in Qatar, I went on to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Physics at McGill University where I fell in love with astrophysics as I had the privilege of working with Professor Daryl Haggard and Dr. Kristen Dage on a project investigating the complex geometry of the accretion disk surrounding the high-mass X-ray binary SMC X-1.
In the fall of 2023, I began my master’s journey at the Université de Montréal under the co-supervision of Professors Julie Hlavacek-Larrondo and Laurence Perreault-Levasseur. My research focuses on leveraging innovative machine learning techniques, particularly contrastive learning, along with state-of-the-art data from the IllustrisTNG simulations. The goal of my work is to analyze the properties of cool cores in galaxy clusters using TNG-Cluster and TNG-300 data, pushing the boundaries of astrophysical research through modern artificial intelligence methods.
Outside of academia, I am extremely passionate about staying active and fitness!
