This placeholder is not a simulation image, but a high-speed photograph of a real water droplet falling into still water. It was selected because it offers a striking reminder of the limitations of even the most advanced current hydrodynamical simulations, which still cannot reproduce such a familiar phenomenon in all its observed details. Food for thought !
