Les pages Web accessibles ci-dessous, Great Moments in the History of Solar Physics, ont été développées entre 1995 et 2001 par Paul Charbonneau, avec des contributions de Thomas J. Bogdan et Oran R. White, tous alors à l'emploi du National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Ces pages se sont avérées populaires, à en juger, entre autre, par la fréquence à laquelle elles ont été plagiées (le plus récemment par David Whitehouse, dans son The Sun: A biography, John Wiley & Sons, 2005; cliquer ici pour une liste des passages copiés textuellement). Une version bilingue au contenu plus élaboré est maintenant basée sur le site du GRPS.

La traduction française du site fut effectuée par Alexandre Murdock D'Amour, Paul Charbonneau et Richard Joseph, et la restructuration du site est l'oeuvre de Richard Joseph. Il s'agit ici d'un projet en perpétuelle évolution. D'autres "Grands Moments" et biographies devraient s'ajouter au fil des mois et des années.

The Web Pages accessible below, Great Moments in the History of Solar Physics, were developped between 1995 and 2001 by P. Charbonneau, with contributions from Thomas J. Bogdan and Oran R. White, all employed at the time by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR, Boulder, CO). This historical material has proven quite popular, judging among other criteria by the frequency at which they have been plagiarized (most recently by David Whitehouse, in his The Sun: A biography, John Wiley & Sons, 2005; click here for a list of cut-and-paste text). A new version is now available on the GRPS Web Site, with an expanded content and in bilingual form.
