II.5.2 Force balance in the magnetized tachocline
You will find below the data required to do problem (5.2) at the end of chapter 5 of part II of the class notes. In grabbing the files directly from this page with your browser, make sure to save all files as Plain Text. The needed files are:
- README.txt: Important Instructions and hints
- btacho.dat: Formatted data file
The file README.txt contains information about the format of the data file, as well as suggestions and hints concerning the calculation of partial derivatives using centered finite differences. Do read it, because there are a few subtleties you need to be aware of.
