NGC 4725, an intermediate barred spiral galaxy located 40 million light-years away, is distinct with a single spiral arm emanating from a star-forming ring. It interacts with NGC 4747, indicating complex galactic dynamics. Suspected to be a Seyfert 2 galaxy, it harbors a supermassive black hole, providing opportunities to study star formation, galactic interactions, and active galactic nuclei. The image was taken with the CPAPIR infrared camera using H (red), I (green), and J (blue) filters at the Mont-Mégantic Observatory.
